Beckoning Spring to the Feast of the Skies (Walpurgis Night 2021) - Chapter 2

Location: Manor - Dining Hall (Day) 

The girl who turned into a beast forgot all of the people she knew, bared her teeth at everyone, and even refused to eat. 

The doctors in the village weren't able to figure out the problem and her parents were starting to become worn out due to the fact they couldn't do anything to help her. 

Rustica: The villagers assumed the girl was struck by an illness caused by the < Great Calamity > and now is undergoing a period of isolation. 

Rutile: I can’t believe that such a thing has happened to her…

The situation was direr than we thought. No one dared to say anything.

Chloe: I bet she must have been going through so much…If only we could do something to help her out…

Shylock: Absolutely. We will, in fact, have to accept this request. The sooner we could deal with this request, the better. 

Rustica: Would you be willing to come along with us, Chloe?

Chloe: Without a doubt! I would love to help to the best of my abilities. 

Shylock: Hehe, what an obedient kid indeed. Meanwhile, Murr must be…

Akira: Apparently he went off flying on a carpet or something…

Shylock: I understand. I have no clue when he will be coming back. If he doesn’t make it in time for our departure, I’m afraid that he has no choice but to stay behind. 

Akira: So that means Shylock, Rustica, Chloe, and Cain will be working on this request—

Rutile: Umm, Master Sage. May we also come along? 

I’m very worried that this kind of incident happened in the South. We might be able to show where the village near the tower is too. Right, Mitile? 

Mitile: Yes, please! Please let us come along with you all too. 

Akira: Thanks, you two. It’s really comforting to have you two come along with us. 

Snow: How splendid to see the younger wizards being eager to strive for the best. Allow me to join you all too. 

White: ‘Tis means I shall stay behind at the manor. Someone ought to look after the other Northern wizards, after all.

Nero: Well then, looks like I’m comin’ along with y’all too.

Akira: Woah, Nero! Where did you come from…

Nero: Haha…Don’t get all too spooked. I baked up another batch of tarts and I thought I’d bring ya some. 

Rustica: We would be more than happy if you came along with us. 

Chloe: But doesn’t it feel unusual to…

Nero: Not at all. It would honestly feel awkward if you guys went out since it will be only the Northern wizards left in here. 

White: Hohoho! How dare you say such a harsh remark in front of your fellow Northern wizards.

Nero: Just kiddin’.

Although I didn’t hear all that much that was shared, that must have been awful for everyone involved. If there’s anything ya need help with, I’ll be more than happy to step in. 

Nero softly chuckled and casually patted both the Southern brothers on their shoulders, still looking rather torn. 

It was a thoughtful, caring gesture from him. Not too friendly, not too distant. Just the caring and sensitive guy he is. 

Akira: Thank you as always, Nero. 

Rutile - Mitile: …Thank you so much!

Cain - Chloe - Rustica: Thanks! 

Nero: …Huhhh? What’s with y’all all of a sudden? 

Awkwardly feigning ignorance, too, was very much like him.

Location: Rutile’s Room - Day

Rutile: Is there something wrong, Master Sage? 

On the way to the elevator, as we were preparing to set off, I stopped by Rutile’s room. 

There was something I wanted to apologize to Rutile in person. 

Akira: I wanted to apologize to you. You were supposed to visit the South to check out more about Walpurgis Night with Mitile, but we ended up having to go there just to accomplish a request…

Rutile: Hehe. Please don’t be sorry. Besides, we’re the ones who wanted to tag along to help. 

I cannot afford to let an incident in my hometown go unnoticed. That’s one of my duties as a Sage’s wizard, after all.

But I’m happy to hear you feel that way, Master Sage. I can’t thank you enough. 

Akira: I appreciate it! Oh! Once the request has been completed, is it alright if I help you guys out? 

Listening to all kinds of stories you told me made me think of joining in the celebration of the Walpurgis Night in the South too. 

Rutile: Yes, of course! I was actually going to invite you to join in once we learned more about it! 

And perhaps, you could experience the same kinds of emotions and feelings I felt during that time…… 

Akira: Is there anything wrong, Rutile?

Rutile: …Oh it’s nothing! Just spaced out all of the sudden, that’s all! 

To tell the truth, there was just one strange thing about the Walpurgis Night. 

Whenever I remember that festival, I picture my mother’s face along with my memories too…

Akira: You mean… Tiletta?

Rutile: Yes, but I have no idea why…

…

I assume it’s because my mother took me to see the feast of the Walpurgis Night back when I was little…

Akira: Rutile…

Rutile: We should accomplish the request first! Let’s make sure to do our very best, Master Sage.

Location: Southern Village (Day) 

Rutile: Here we are, Master Sage. This is the village where we got the request from.

The village was a short walk away from the South Tower. 

Rustica: It’s nestled amidst the verdant mountains and fields, and the air is so lovely, it freshens the mind.

Is your hometown close by?

Mitile: I wasn’t aware there was another village near the Town of Clouds. Have you ever visited here before, brother? 

Rutile: Hmm, I don’t remember. But I feel I’ve seen this scenery before. 

(Running footsteps)

As we were looking around, we saw a man and a woman rushing towards us from afar. 

Southern Mother: We have been waiting for you all to arrive…! 

Akira: Are you the ones who requested us? 

Southern Father: Yes…we are Helena’s parents. Please, oh please, Master Sage…Please save our dear child! 

Southern Mother: She hasn’t eaten for days now… She’s still so small...If she doesn’t, she will…! 

Rutile - Mitile - Chloe: …!
