Akira: Well, it’s a trip where everyone travels together to a different place to learn about their local culture and its customs…
Rutile: Sounds like a very exciting school activity. I can see how it could strengthen the friends’ bonds even more! If you go on a school trip with the Southern country students, where do you want to go?

Rutile: My father was a teacher in the Southern Country too. He was a simple, soft-spoken, and kind who’s well-liked by the kids.
Akira: Soft-spoken and kind...so he was like Lennox?
Rutile: Hmm, he’s not as sharp as Mister Lennox is.
Maybe someone like Mister Rustica and Heathcliff resemble him more.
Ahh! Although he was from a different lineage compared to those two, my father was still very handsome.
My mother Tiletta was attracted to his good looks and would get pissed off by Dr. Figaro who teased her about it. Hehe, that’s what I thought also.
Akira: Well, they seemed to be a beautiful married couple. I’m convinced that Rutile is a lovely and gentle person––I can see in your personality how you resemble your parents.
Rutile: Ahaha! Sage, you flatter me! I’m actually delighted to be told that I resemble my parents. I love both my mother and father very dearly.
My father was knowledgeable about many things and was amazing at teaching––he always wanted me to become a teacher like him.

How to Deal With Mithra
Rutile: Mister Mithra is feeling unwell and is having trouble falling asleep, so I thought I’d brew some tea for him. Would you also like a cup?
Akira: Thank you so much. I’m in your debt!
I noticed that you have been taking care of Mithra well recently. Did you guys become friends?
Rutile: I have no idea. I don’t think I hate him at all, and I'd like to think he probably doesn't hate me and isn’t a bad person.
Since Mister Mithra uses powerful magic, he can pass off as frightening to others and has the urge to get violent and angry all of the sudden.
He’s generally an easy-going person, which I can relate to in some way, so I believe that we’ll get along well in the end.
And although he’s much older, he can get childish sometimes.
Whenever I get turned off by his behavior, I get reminded of what my students were like back when I was a teacher in my hometown.
And then eventually...I figured out the trick.
Akira: Is that the trick for how to get along?
Rutile: Right! If I get mad, I’ll try to act nice to them. Then, they’ll respond with a strange face and say nothing!
I have been using this strategy lately.
Akira: Ahaha! Looks like it has been effective! I’ll make sure to use this trick the next time I come across trouble.
Mitile: Geez! Brother! What did I tell you!?
Rutile: Yes, I know, but can you please wait a little longer? You’re losing your cool...

Rutile: Uhh...yeah. I was going to lend Mitile a book...
Mitile: It was somewhere in my brother’s messy room so I told him to clean his room by this afternoon but then he totally forgot and took a nap instead!

Rutile's Mana Area
It says that it’s a place that allows the wizard to gather their focus, as well as to refresh their power.
Rutile: A sacred place...I suppose you might be talking about a mana area?
A mana area is a place where a wizard can replenish their mystical power. A place where both nature and the mind relax and unwind.
Akira: That’s probably it! Do you have a mana area too, Rutile?
Rutile: I do. My mana area is a flower garden in my hometown.
As each season passes by, different kinds of flowers bloom––it’s a delightful sight that’ll take your breath away. The fence around the garden stands tall and it's a great place to hide too.
I’d have the time of my life there. I would do all sorts of things that make me happy such as reading books, drawing pictures, and taking afternoon naps. It’s the place that I find the most relaxing for me.
Akira: Sounds fun! After all, it seems like you could just sit back and relax.
Rutile: Yes, that’s the exact feeling I get whenever I use my magic.
I’m put in a comfortable state of calm and tranquil. However, it can also become a fun and thrilling feeling.
Even when I’m not around my mana area, I always feel like my magic is at its peak when I’m near the greenery and flowers.

Rutile’s Amulet
The amulet gives the same effect as actually being in their mana area. Does this mean that Rutile has his own amulet as well?
Rutile: My amulet is a handcrafted wreath and it can be seen right at the door.
When I first arrived at the manor, Dr. Figaro reminded me to bring along something to remember the beloved flower garden.
Akira: Did you make this wreath all by yourself, Rutile? It looks wonderful!

When I was exploring the manor for the first time, I stumbled upon a beautiful garden and I immediately thought about whether it was really okay for me to have left my mana area...
You’ll get the immediate feeling of being rejuvenated if you surround yourself with plants that remind you of home. I’ll do my best to reminisce about my hometown today.

A Substitute for Paint
Rutile: I wanted to paint a picture of a flower but I ran out of pink paint.
There was a flower that looked like it was about to bloom so I thought I’d paint it to capture the moment, but alas...
Akira: ...I got an idea! Rutile, is it alright if you could summon a bottle with your magic?
Rutile: A bottle? Understood!

Akira: Thank you so much! Although it’s not actually paint, you can use other things as a substitute!
First, pour water into this bottle, then add the scattered petals in, and finally, mix them all together.
Rutile: Woah! This is so cool, Master Sage! The color of the water changed into the same shade of pink as the petals!
Akira: This is called watercolor. It’s when the flower’s pigments dissolve in the water and give the water its color.
Rutile: Watercolor...it’s different from the usual paint, it has a magnificent, shimmering color almost as if you’re melting sparkly gemstones...
Thank you so much, Master Sage! Now I can paint up a picture using these.

This drink is a little strong, but it will knock you out right away once you take a sip.
Rutile: It’s not a good idea if we let them drink something with a high level of alcohol, Dr. Figaro! This is what we’re drinking now, Master Sage.
Figaro: Oh my, I just wanted them to join our late night drinking session.
Rutile: If you try to offer them another drink, I’ll go tell Mitile that you’ve been secretly drinking alcohol behind his back.
Figaro: Whoa whoa, cut it out. I'm just having some fun.
Akira: (Despite drinking such hard alcohol, Rutile’s appearance hasn’t changed at all.)

Akira: I seem to have twisted my neck while I was sleeping last night. I can’t even try to turn my head to the right without it hurting…
Rutile: That’s tough. I’ll go ahead and heal you with magic. Do you mind raising your arms up horizontally?
Akira: My arms? I see...
Akira: Ah... I moved my neck just now, it doesn’t hurt anymore!
You didn’t cast the spell directly on the affected area, did you?
