Chapter 1
Location: Underground Palace (Day)
Akira: We’re off to explore the underground palace! Are you two ready, Rutile and Mitile?
Rutile: Of course, we’re ready for anything!
Mitile: I’m all for it! It’s gonna be really exciting!
Akira: (Both of them are looking forward to the trip. Going on adventures to unfamiliar, brand new places sounds exciting, doesn’t it?)
The action plan you guys made together is filled with tons of fun illustrations to look at!
Rutile: Thank you! Since it’s a rare opportunity to explore the underground palace, I swept up in making this one.
Mitile: We’re gonna have fun if we explore the place while following this action plan!
Since my brother can be a bit of a careless person, I was worried if we‘d be able to plan beforehand...
Rutile: Geez, I’m not always that careless.
Akira: Ahaha! Looks as if Mitile’s the older brother. Let’s take a look at the action plan right away.
Rutile: You got it! We’re about to explore the underground palace right now, so we'll check this off once we finish this activity.
Akira: (It’s just like a travel handbook or even a stamp rally [1], how nice!)
And this drawing here...are those insects perching on the wall or something related to insect collecting?
Rutile: Insect collecting sounds like a fun activity to do! But unfortunately, that’s not what it is. It’s actually a drawing session.
Whenever I come across some rare kinds of animals or plants, I make sure to sketch them out so that I can have them as a souvenir.
Akira: I-I see.
(Rutile’s drawings are just as strange as always...)
Mitile: I drew a picture too, try to guess what it’s about!
Akira: Maybe this is you, who’s fretting over a bunch of boxes…?
Mitile: You got it! I wanted to bring home souvenirs for everyone back at the manor. I wonder what kind would Riquet like...
We went inside the palace as we talked while unfolding our action chart.
(A cry)
Mitile: ...!
Akira: Huh? Did you hear something just now?
Rutile: Yes, it sounded like a cry...I heard it too. There may be some creatures over there. Do you want to go check it out?
Akira: (It’s kinda frightening but at least I’m going with someone so I guess it will be alright?)
Alright, let’s head off!
Mitile: P-Please wait, brother!
Rutile: Mitile?

[1] Stamp rallies (タンプラリー) are one of the tourist things you’d do in Japan where you go to different locations to collect stamps with a special card provided to you. Different themes covered by stamp rallies range from Pokemon to even joseimuke mobages (Touken Ranbu for example). Let’s hope Mahoyaku has one in the future hehe

Mitile: What if that animal cry we heard earlier turned out to be a scary monster? If you go try looking for it, you might end up getting hurt…
Mitile anxiously warned as he tugged at Rutile’s arm to stop him.
Akira: (This place is an ancient ruin, I wonder if Mitile became uneasy at the idea of going further in…)
Rutile: Mitile...you were concerned about us, weren't you? Thank you.
But Dr. Figaro mentioned earlier that there’s no sign of any wild creature or monster in this place so I’m sure we’ll be alright.
Mitile: Uh...But there is still a possibility that...
Rutile: That’s why we should go and check it out. We might come across rare creatures and other fascinating discoveries!
And no matter what happens, I’ll make sure to keep both you and Master Sage safe. Here, why don’t we hold hands?
Mitile: Geez, you’re always treating me like a baby! But I also want to check if there are any rare creatures lurking around…Alright, fine…
Akira: (He’s still feeling a bit sulky, but I guess Rutile wanted to provide him some courage.)
Would you like to hold my hand too, Mitile?
Mitile: Master Sage as well? It’s kind of embarrassing but it feels reassuring. Thank you!
I hope we don’t come across an unknown beast or something...
Rutile: That would be a great discovery!
Mitile: You’re too easy-going!
Akira: Ahaha!
Rutile: The cries are getting closer... Maybe their source is right ahead.
Akira: Are you doing okay, Mitile?
Mitile: Y-Yes, I am! ...Let’s go!
Akira: Huh? There’s nothing…?
Rutile: There’s a huge crack on the wall...The sound of the wind whistling through the cracks could‘ve been the cries we’ve been hearing.
(A cry)
Mitile and Akira: …No way! W-What was that––!
Mitile: Thank goodness it wasn’t a beast!
Akira: Truly! We were quite panicky at first, weren’t we?
Rutile: Hehe, so was I! That’s one of the best parts of exploring new things!
Mitile: Ah! There’s another path leading this way too! Is it okay if I go ahead?
Rutile: Of course! Although remember to not go too far off because we’ll be right behind you.
Mitile: Got it!
Akira: (He was so terrified a while ago but now he looks like he’s having a blast.)
Must be all thanks to you having Mitile’s back, huh?
Rutile: Oh no, he’s much of an adventurous boy at heart.
But it’s because he can get gutsy and cautious, he ends up getting himself lost at times.
That’s why I give him a little motivation whenever he gets lost.
Make sure to not tell anyone all about this, got it?
If he were to hear us, he’d get angry and say I’m treating him like a kid again…
Akira: Yes, of course.
(Rutile is such a kind-hearted brother...)

Mitile: Hey brother, look at this!
Rutile: Why look at that––it’s a rare plant, I don’t think I have ever come across one of these before...The petals have a lovely color combo of blue and white. I wonder what it’s called?
The item, given by Figaro, alerted us the time when we have to meet with the others. We all have to return to the magical manor soon.
Akira: Hey, Rutile, Mitile. We should be leaving the palace shortly.
Mitile: What? Did we take up too much time here?
Rutile: We didn’t take up too much time at all.
Mitile: It can’t be... We haven’t even accomplished most of the stuff planned in the action plan…
It’s all because I held back, thinking we’d encounter a beast along the way...I’m sorry.
Rutile: No need to say sorry, Mitile. Your precautions are an important part of the adventure. We could have ended up encountering a monster on our way, you know?
Akira: True. The suspense and fear of encountering the unknown is what makes things even more exciting!
Mitile: Brother, Master Sage…
Akira: (To be honest, we haven’t checked off most of the activities we planned from our action plan––but it’s also fun when we do activities that aren't part of what we initially planned...Ah!)
I have an idea––how about we add all the activities we can do right now on the action plan?
Mitile: The activities we can do right now?
Akira: Yes. With this, we can still be able to make lots of memories of our adventure.
Rutile: How wonderful! I’ll get my quill right away. « Ortonik Setomaouge »
Just let me know what kind of activities you want to do so that I can add them to the action plan!
Mitile: How about we share with Dr. Figaro and Mister Lennox about what we did today?
Rutile: I agree! I’m sure both of them would love to listen!
Akira: I’m starving, so I’d like to eat lots of delicious food!
Rutile: That’s also important! I added that to the plan as well.
I want to draw something. When we get back to the manor, I wanted to draw so that we can capture the memories in our adventure.
Akira: Sounds wonderful! Don’t forget to show us when you’re done.
Rutile: Of course! Is there anything else that you’d like to accomplish, Mitile? Jot down all the things you want to accomplish!
Mitile: U-Uhhh, let’s see...They say that it’s an adventure to return back home... I want to be able to return to the manor in one piece!
Rutile: Yep, and that’s something that we’ll definitely accomplish.
Akira: (It’s kinda like going back home right after a school trip...!)
Rutile: Hehe. Let’s create lots and lots of wonderful memories together!
We continued to jot down our action plan––we had a blast with our adventure until we were picked up by Figaro and everyone else and returned back home together.
